high density Mobile Shelving

Mobile shelving can help you dramatically reduce storage space. But when it comes to performance and operating life, all movable systems are not created equal. That's why it pays to insist on Kompakt Movable Shelving from ISDA. Before you invest, compare...

  • Double-flanged wheels and self-adjusting pillow block bearings guarantee continuous alignment for smooth, consistent performance day in and day out.
  • Five inch diameter wheels that are all driven to maintain positive tracking and deliver a long, worry-free operating life.
  • Full-length drive shafts prevent the racking and friction common with other movable shelving systems.
  • Flexible rail system options allow hassle-free installation in new construction, existing structures and even temporary or leased facilities.
  • Electronically controlled, mechanical assist, or manual systems to meet your specific needs most cost-efficiently.
  • Your ISDA dealer will assist your staff in conducting a survey to prove the space/money-saving benefits and payback period of a Kompakt System.

Maximizing Space Capacity

Since it's introduction, the "mobile shelving concept" has provided a cost effective way for users to maximize capacity, while minimizing space requirements. Since access is rarely required to all materials simultaneously, shelving units are compacted together, reducing wasted space. Instead of aisles between every shelving unit, aisles are created when and where they are needed within the system. Using this simple concept, floor requirements can be reduced by as much as 70%.

There are basically two types of mobile systems on the market today, mechanical and electric. The only real difference between the two is the method by which the carriages are set in motion. All manufacturers are limited to the same basic systems.

Mechanical:

Although both systems operate on the same principle, a mechanical system is one in which the user provides the power to drive the carriages via side mounted rotating handles. Across the industry, these handles have slightly different designs, but they all do the same job: through a system of gears, they transfer physical effort into movement of the carriages. Mechanical systems are the most cost effective as they perform their duties without the aid of additional electrical motors. They work very well in all but the most demanding environments.

Electrical:

Electrical systems require just that, electricity, to power the motors that drive the carriages. Through a simple push of a button, massive amounts of weight can be set in motion. Computer based security system can be integrated with the drive system to provide totally automated detection, safety, and security  features. Although a little more expensive than mechanical systems, electrical systems provide the utmost in convenience, performance, and safety for discerning users.

Multiple aisle openings provide easier access and increase productivity.

Systems may also be configured for materials storage
